In each of the different games that may be played with cards the value of the card depends upon the game that is played. The standard deck consists of 52 playing cards with 2 jokers. There are four different suits in the deck, diamonds, hearts, spades, and clubs, each suit containing 13 cards. There are several different fun and exciting games that you can play you can play games by yourself and with other people.
What does card playing mean to me?
Card playing makes me feel included and sociable a way to engage with peers and thinking of strategies to win. I get enjoyment out of winning and discussion's with the people I'm playing with. I like the way that card playing can bring people together you don't have to know someone very well to play a card game with them and it gives you some common ground to talk about card playing can be a way of forming new relationships
What does card playing mean to me as an Occupational Therapist?
I view card playing in occupational therapy as a way to engage clients, it is a way to build a rapport through an enjoyable activity. I feel that card playing is an activity were you can be engaged in the game as well as you are able to form conversation with the client. Card playing is a way for client is socialise with peers as well as it gets client to form strategies and think of different tactic's to win a game. it can give them a sense of achievement and can be a meaningful activity to them.
Practical considerations
I will participate in this activity 2hours a week. I can play card by myself on my laptop or i can play with other people.
